Why use Gtechniq Crystal Serum?
Like no other product, Crystal Serum provides paint protection with previously unachievable levels of gloss, durability, scratch and chemical resistance.
Its composite structure offers the ultimate in ceramic protection plus the same slick finish and candy like gloss as the very best carnauba waxes.

The hard 9h top and softer 7h base layer offer improved swirl resistance over regular 9h coatings. Compared to standard ceramic coatings, Crystal Serum forms a relatively thick combined film which greatly reduces surface hazing and improves gloss.

Resistant to chemicals from ph2 to ph13, so when you clean your car, even the harshest wash chemicals will not dull your gloss. And on top of that, contaminants like bird droppings are easy to remove.

* Please note that whilst Crystal Serum is very resistant to bird droppings, the "mechanical" effect of hot paintwork swelling around bird droppings left on your vehicle's surface means that some etching from bird droppings can occur.  We therefore recommend you remove bird droppings immediately, and in the unlikely event of paintwork etching, our Accredited Detailers will be able to remove and recoat affected areas.

Crystal Serum is unaffected by extreme heat changes - even from -40 to +250 degrees Celsius - and offers exceptional UV protection which prevents premature dulling.
For the definitive hydrophobic finish it can be overcoated with Gtechniq EXO or C2.
Crystal Serum is a professional-only product and can only be applied by an official Gtechniq Accredited Detailer. Please visit the “Find a Detailer” link at the top of this page to find your nearest Gtechniq Accredited Detailer.

Storage and use
  • Prepare your surface by removing any contaminants, and, or polish residues as this will ensure the highest density of cross-links between Crystal Serum and the surface of the vehicle.  For this we recommend using Gtechniq Panel Wipe and a Gtechniq MF1 ZeroR Microfibre Buff Cloth
  • Ensure that there is no risk of water dripping onto partially cured coating from trim parts or seals.  For this we recommend using an air line to blow any excess water from these areas. If water does drip recommend repolishing the affected area and reapplying Crystal Serum
  • Make sure the surface you are working on is cool, dry and out of direct sunlight – each panel should be between 5 and 30 degrees celcius
  • When applying the product always wear the gloves provided to prevent the product coming into contact with your skin
  • Use the pipette to put plenty of product onto the application pad
  • Replace the lid on the bottle and set aside (do not keep the bottle in your hand as this promotes premature curing)
  • Spread the coating over an area no larger than half a small panel or quarter of a large panel
  • The coating forms an almost immediate reaction with the surface of the vehicle so you should immediately remove residue with a Gtechniq MF1 ZeroR Microfibre Buff Cloth
  • You may need to buff the same area several times to fully remove residues for which we recommend using two MF1 cloths at any one time. Please note that you are only removing excess product so avoid buffing with too much force as this can marr softer paint finishes
  • For ease of spotting surface residue it is best to use a medium intensity flat light source and angling your head so that you view each surface from several oblique angels
  • Take care that the MF1 cloths you are using are rotated sufficiently and quickly so that Crystal Serum does not partially cure in the cloth, as this will make buffing residue significantly more difficult
  • We also recommend joining edges of coated areas ‘wet to wet’. For example if you are doing the roof, do the first side, and the other side immediately afterwards
  • If you miss removing residue and it cures fully you will need to carefully wet sand the affected panel, repolish and then reapply Crystal Serum. Unlike C1 Crystal Lacquer or EXO you cannot remove the fully cured film with a cutting compound
  • We recommend the vehicle stays dry for at least 12 hours post application
  • We do not recommend applying more than one layer of Crystal Serum, but for improved hydrophobic function, it can be layered with two coats of Gtechniq EXO – but you must all three hours for Serum to dry before applying
  • Immediately machine wash used MF1 cloths after use, but we advise not to use the same cloths again
  • An unopened bottle of Crystal Serum has a 12 month shelf life from the time of purchase. As soon as a bottle is open it needs to be used within 3 months - the pipette must be removed, cleaned and the cap replaced
